Recently there’s been an unusual interest in the age-old ‘fenti hui coffee’? So, the big question is this: what is this Dalgona Coffee and why is it so popular nowadays? 

Its popularity can be traced back to South Korean actor Jung-II Woo, who made it on a TV show. A clip of it went viral recently on a social media portal. Dalgona Coffee is nothing more than the old beaten Indian coffee but with a twist! The only thing different is that the beaten coffee is made using hot milk while Dalgona Milk is made using cold or chilled milk. 

It’s named so due to the toffee-like texture of a South Korean honeycomb toffee candy. It is very easy to make. The ingredients you require are equal amounts of coffee, sugar and water and a whisk. You will also need chilled milk and whipped cream and you are good to go. Read below for an easy way to make this amazing coffee recipe at home.


2 tablespoon coffee powder

2 tablespoon boiling water

ice cubes as required

2 tablespoon sugar

2 cup cold milk 

How to make

Step 1 – Take a bowl and mix equal quantities of coffee powder, sugar and hot water to prepare this delicious coffee.

Step 2 – Beat this coffee mixture using a whisk or hand blender if you have one until it looks light, frothy and creamy. This may take some time. Don’t give up.

Step 3 – Take 2 glasses or coffee mugs and add ice cubes in it as per your choice. Pour chilled milk in them and add the beaten and whipped coffee over it. Serve it chilled.

1. The first rule of making Dalgona Coffee is that you use high-quality coffee powder. The colour you get depends on the richness of coffee powder.

2. Use chilled milk to make this coffee without any sugar or a hint of sweetness, you can sweeten your milk using a little condensed milk or sugar as you like, depending on your taste.

3. Finally, you can store your whipped coffee for a week in a vacuum container.
