A Short Guide To Morning Meditation

Meditation is very important for maintaining a healthy balance between your mind and your body. It is a simple technique that can be practiced anytime and anywhere for alleviating stress. Meditation is similar to working out, you need to practice to get the benefits. The longer you practice the longer the benefits will last – in both, mind and body.

The mind is just as important as the body and both need a workout. According to a study, overeating unhealthy foods can be a result of stress and many lie awake at night due to high-stress levels. Eat healthier, exercise more frequently, get more sleep, use more natural products on your skin, and at home, but if you don’t take care of your mind, you will stay unbalanced in your life.

Meditation cleans and clears both your body and mind. Meditation helps in decreasing stress and anxiety levels which in turn diminishes inflammation in the bodies, reduces blood pressure, improves attention, sleeps better, and helps in making smarter choices and regulating our thoughts.

Meditation not just reduces stress, but also helps in making you find peace from within.  The main goal of meditation is to tune in with yourself and connect with your center and, to get in touch with the energy of “oneness”. It is a way of getting in the space between your thoughts. To find the stillness between two thoughts – this space is the gateway to a divine connection.

There is so much uncertainty, negativity, and stress around us, so what better time than now to make meditation our companions. Don’t worry you don’t need to spend a lot of time, just a few minutes after waking up is enough. Firstly you need to be in a quiet place and without any distractions. While you can do meditation anytime you want, the following are 4 ways in which doing meditation in the morning will be really helpful to you.

1. It helps you limit your coffee intake: Doing just 20 minutes of meditation activates your parasympathetic nervous system which relaxes you. So, even while you’re feeling tired and groggy in the morning, 20 minutes of meditation releases energy-boosting endorphins that help you kick-start your day, without relying solely on coffee.

2. It increases your focus: We love hitting the snooze button on our alarms and check our notifications or just go back to sleep after snoozing. While the first few days may not be easy for you. Starting your day with meditation helps you set the tone for the entire day. It lets you remain focused and optimistic. At first, do just 10-15 minutes of meditation and then gradually increase it to a 20-30 minute meditation.

3. Lets you eat clean and healthy: Stress combined with a bad day at work lead to overeating unhealthy food. However, as meditation lets you handle your stress and anxiety triggers better, it automatically leads to you picking clean and healthy food choices over fried junk foods. It aids you in dealing with your cravings in a better manner.Stay healthy, stay safe 🙂
